Simon Snow just wants to relax and savor his last year at the Watford School of Magicks, but no one will let him. His girlfriend broke up with him, his best friend is a pest, and his mentor keeps trying to hide him away in the mountains where maybe he’ll be safe. Simon can’t even enjoy the fact that his roommate and longtime nemesis is missing, because he can’t stop worrying about the evil git. Plus there are ghosts. And vampires. And actual evil things trying to shut Simon down. When you’re the most powerful magician the world has ever known, you never get to relax and savor anything.

My Thoughts: Excuse my screaming for a minute. A NEW RAINBOW ROWELL BOOK? YES PLEASE. Okay, that’s all. I cannot wait one more day for this book! I really loved the bits of Simon Snow fanfiction that were in Fangirl. I’m also really excited to see Rainbow do something set in a fantasy world! I absolutely love her contemporary novels, and I’m sure this fantasy novel will be just as fantastic.

Honorable Mentions: Dreamstrider by Lindsay Smith (10/6/15), The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness (10/6/15),

    1. The Rest of Us Just Live sounds so interesting, and I’ve heard amazing things about it. I also forgot to put the new illustrated Harry Potter book on this list, but I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy.

      1. I know what you mean. I don’t actually have the money for books right now. So I’m going to sit in the corner and cry while everyone else buys them! D: I will be picking them up as soon as I have the money to though!
