Hey guys!
The new year is upon us and what better way to start off a great reading year but to participate in an amazing read-a-thon? This is my official announcement of my participation in the Bout of Books 12.0 read-a-thon. For those of you who don’t know what the Bout of Books read-a-thons are, you can find more information on their website here. But also here is a little information:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 5th and runs through Sunday, January 11th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 12 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team
Now as for my TBR for this read-a-thon. I don’t exactly have a set TBR. I go back to work this week, on Tuesday. I would be going back tomorrow; but, since my mother broke her shoulder and had to have surgery on it over winter break, I have to drive her to the doctor tomorrow to have her follow up appointment. So I may not get a ton of reading done during this read-a-thon. And that’s okay with me. I really just wanted to participate and try to get as much done as I can.
I will be trying to post daily updates this week, so you will probably be seeing those instead of a Teaser Tuesday and the reviews that I had planned to post. Which just gives me a little more time to catch up on my reviews. I know for sure that I would like to finish reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I’m a little over a hundred pages in as I type this, and I plan on reading a little bit once the read-a-thon starts (in about half an hour). Here is a small list of the books that are on the top of my TBR list and what I may be reading the rest of this week:
1. Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle
2. The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
3. Looking for Alaska by John Green
4. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
5. The Program by Suzanne Young
Depending on how much I enjoy Shadow and Bone, and on how it ends, I may also pick up Siege and Storm when I get done with Shadow and Bone.
Are you participating in Bout of Books? If you are let me know what your first read is going to be. If you aren’t, let know what you’re currently reading. If you have any opinions on which of these books I should read next, let me know!
Yay for John Green. Let is now was meh but Looking for Alaska, oh my God. If you don’t read it, I will find your address and kill you. Bwahahaha.

Haha, well I definitely want to read it soon! I’m not sure if it’ll be this week yet, but we’ll see! I really need to read Paper Towns too.

A lot of great books here! I’ve been wanting to read Looking for Alaska, but I don’t own the book yet. Anyway, happy reading and good luck! 🙂

I purchased it last month, and I really do want to pick it up soon. My biggest issue is that I have such an enormous TBR pile (that somehow seems to be growing quite often) and I really want to read all of my books. So picking the one I want to read is hard.
